Strong beautiful visuals, brimming with authentic life and human warmth is my sweet spot. This is the kind of material I surround myself with. The stuff that makes you feel good. Here’s why…
Visuals dominated my life at an extremely young age. With a Brother who’s Spina Bifida made him tremendously dependant, I’d get immersed in image based creativity, involving him in the latest comic I was drawing, play I was writing, or movie I was making. It was all a creation to make us feel good and it instilled me with a deep empathy, which is why I excel at directing real people and kids. My huge levels of engagement with talent is the result of me fostering a sense of energetic fun onset, which encourages the best performances. Every time. Beautiful real moments, caught on camera.
While spinning the plates of ambitious creative ideas, tight timeframes and never enough money has become the norm, I set myself that precedent early on as a young director. It was always about making it work beyond its means and not allowing anyone to notice my constraints. It’s still 100% like that. No one cares what you were up against while making something, all that matters is how it makes them feel when they watch it. I love that. Whatever the circumstances, I create an environment that makes people feel good right through the corporate creative process, until they’re watching it finished at home. Smiling. It’s how I’ve always done it. It’s why I first did it.
My approach is considered, creative and extremely collaborative. I’d be privileged to help frame your story with beautiful imagery and have it brimming with human warmth.
Plus you know: VFX, CG, that stuff… Easy.
